Nitrogen Fixation Trivia Quiz

Questions : 10 | Total Attempts: 600 | Recent Updated: 14-Jun-2020
Am I a Dominant or Submissive Personality Quiz
Any process that causes free nitrogen (N2) to combine chemically with other elements to form more-reactive nitrogen compounds such as ammonia, nitrates, or nitrites. Atmospheric nitrogen is molecular dinitrogen, a relatively nonreactive molecule. More than 90 % percent of all nitrogen fixation is effected by microorganisms. Two kinds of nitrogen-fixing microorganisms are recognized: free-living (nonsymbiotic) bacteria, including the cyanobacteria (or blue-green algae) Anabaena and Nostoc and genera such as Azotobacter, Beijerinckia, and Clostridium. Some symbiotic microorganisms are Rhizobium, associated with leguminous plants, and various Azospirillum species, associated with cereal grass.
