The film tells the story of a young girl named Fei Fei, who builds a rocket ship to travel to the moon in order to prove the existence of a legendary Moon goddess named Chang’e. Fei Fei is a young girl who is deeply affected by the loss of her mother, who used to tell her stories about Chang’e. When her father introduces her to a new woman who he intends to marry, she becomes determined to prove the existence of Chang’e and the power of true love. The film features an all-star cast including Cathy Ang as Fei Fei, Phillipa Soo as Chang’e, Sandra Oh as Mrs. Zhong, John Cho as Ba Ba, and Ken Jeong as the Gobi, a green creature Fei Fei meets on the moon. Fei Fei’s mother gave her daughter a white rabbit named Bungee. The film was praised for its stunning visuals, heartwarming story, and powerful musical numbers. It was released on Netflix in October 2020 and has since gained a devoted fan base. It grossed a box-office collection of $860,000.
