The scientific name for chicken is Gallus gallus domesticus. A chicken needs to mate everyday so that the eggs grow fertile whereas hen don’t need to mate every day for fertile eggs. Chickens reproduce when both partners procreate through an external orifice known as a Cloaca. The chicken runs with the maximum speed of 14km/hr. Their lifespan ranges from 5-10 years. The chicken brain consists of two halves known as hemisphere. Each half processes some sort of information known as lateralization. Chickens have beaks instead of teeth. On an average, they weigh about 5.7 pounds. Fruits like watermelon, strawberries, blueberries are good for their health and vegetables like pumpkins, carrots, broccoli, kale, lettuce, etc. The various chicken breeds are: Silkie, Brahma, Plymouth Rock, Leghorn, Sussex, Polish, Ayam Kampong, Frizzle, Ga Noi, Kadaknath, Master Grey and many more. Humans from South east Asia and China were the first consumers of chickens.
