The Digital India Award has been instituted under the National Portal of India to honor exemplary initiatives/practices in digital-governance. It is a flagship project launched to provide single point access to government information and services in the field of cyberspace. And a framework for establishing accountability, role, and decision-making authority for the organization's digital presence. The 22 Digital Governance initiatives/products launched by the Government were awarded Digital India Awards 2020 in seven categories for designing and implementing innovative citizen-centric digital solutions and improving the ease of living of all citizens. The award recognizes states and union territories with exemplary initiatives in ensuring a broad digital presence in areas such as health, labor, finance, social justice, and the environment.
