National Science Day (NSD) is observed in India every year on 28 February. The Government of India has decided to celebrate 28 February in 1986 as National Science Day for the discovery of the 'Raman Effect' by the famous Indian scientist Dr. CV Raman. Every year on this day scientists is honored by the President who contributed to the field of science. This year, National Science Day will be celebrated on 28 February at Vigyan Bhawan. On this occasion, President Ram Nath Kovind will give prizes to women scientists who have made unprecedented contributions in the field of science.
