On the basis of origin of Mutation, there are two types of mutations: first one is Spontaneous mutations and the other one is Induced mutations. Spontaneous Mutations occur randomly in nature. they may cause due to radiations, chemicals as formaldehyde, peroxide, tautomeric pairing and by mismatching of nitrogen base during replication of DNA. Induced Mutations are produced artificially by using some external factors called mutagens or mutagenic agents. These include Radiations, Chemicals, Temperature, and Certain viruses.
